As a Steward, you will clean dishes, the kitchen, food preparation equipment, or utensils using dishwashers or by hand; maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in a clean and orderly condition. Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas; sort and remove the trash, wipe down walls and baskets, and place trash in designated pickup areas. Stock and transfer supplies to serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, storage, and work areas; prepare and package individual place settings; assist in the plating and dishing out of food; take food and equipment from banquet storage spaces to various locations on the property; clean kitchen cooking equipment and other equipment used in the stewarding department; assist with picking up dirty trays; set up banquet tables and assist with preparing meeting space as assigned; and, assist with the cleanliness of the hotel, picking up trash, sweeping and other cleaning duties as assigned. Will be cleaning and sanitizing the garbage cans and exchanging them daily from their stations. Clean the trash dollies, the floor, walls, etc fumigate the area with non-toxic chemicals, and keep sanitized. Inform management of any damage or misuse of equipment. Must be able to remain calm and work under pressure. You must lift up to 30 lbs (14 kg), bend, kneel & stand for the entire shift & be quick on your feet. Must have great customer service skills & be capable of working in a fast-paced environment. Must have an upbeat, positive attitude at all times. You may be trained and asked to work in other areas if needed. Must be willing to do any additional duties as requested. Schedule & department may fluctuate, must be flexible. Pay varies by department. Must be available to work day or evening shifts including weekends and holidays. Must be dependable, hard-working, friendly, and a very trustworthy and honest individual. Positions require attention to detail, punctuality, and a great service attitude & team spirit. Flexible to help in other positions as quested by management. You will be working weekends, holidays, and evening shifts. You may not have the same shifts as your friends or have the same days off. Ability to handle any additional tasks assigned by management.
A Steward assists in keeping a restaurant, bar, or lounge clean and sanitary, assists in cleaning dishes and tends to customers' needs. The Steward may also perform basic administrative tasks, such as answering phones, taking reservations, and giving out basic information.
