As a lifeguard at Grand Sierra Resort, you'll work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cooler days, and light rain, often standing or sitting in the sun for extended periods. You must be alert and able to respond quickly to emergencies, including administering CPR, first aid, or water rescue following Red Cross protocols. The role requires excellent customer service, including calmly handling complaints and offering helpful solutions. You’ll be responsible for maintaining a clean pool area, completing opening/closing duties, and assisting guests and team members as needed. A strong work ethic, reliability, attention to detail, and punctuality are essential. Flexibility is required for working weekends, holidays, and various shifts. Shifts and days off are based on business needs and may differ from your friends'. Lifeguard certification and training are provided and paid for by the employer. Random drug testing will be conducted, and failure will result in termination. This is a serious, safety-focused role where you are responsible for ensuring guests enjoy their vacation safely.

LIFEGUARD

A lifeguard is responsible for the general supervision and safety of patrons of an aquatic facility by preventing and responding to emergencies. Lifeguards are superior swimmers who are able to give advice on water safety to patrons, conduct swift water rescues and control unruly behavior if necessary.
