Must have advanced English to read instructions and recipes. This is a fast-paced job! You will be responsible for helping prepare food items on a timely basis; cooking and preparing food items according to recipes and quality standards; preparing items for cooking; stocking food items as needed; cleaning and maintaining kitchen and food prep equipment; maintaining proper sanitation controls of products; prepare sauces, vegetables, meat, fish and poultry items properly. You must be able to stand for your entire shift and be able to lift up to 50lb/35kg. Basic vegetable preparation including cold and hot prep techniques (i.e. knife cuts, blanch, grill, sauté and steam). Basic starch preparation and cooking of pastas, grains, potatoes, and legumes. Basic preparation in all areas of a la carte and/or banquet cookery as applicable to area(s) of responsibility; including grill, sauté, and pantry stations. Performs basic garde manger duties. Prepares stocks. Basic egg preparation. Sets up and executes simple buffet action stations including carving, omelet, wok and pasta. Reads and executes recipes and expands or reduces recipe quantities to modify yield. Must be dependable, hard-working, friendly, and a very trustworthy and honest individual. Positions require attention to detail, punctuality, and a great service attitude & team spirit. Flexible to help in other positions as requested. Additional tasks as requested by management. You will be working weekends (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), all holidays, and evening shifts. You may not work the same shifts as your friends. Nor will you have the same days off as your friends.
